About Alite Split
A calm wayto settle up.
Alite Split Bill works out who owes what after a shared meal, a trip, or a household month — and who should pay whom to settle it.
The moment
Every shared bill ends at the same moment.
The bill arrives. Someone reaches for a calculator, someone else suggests splitting it evenly, and the person who only had tea quietly pays for the wine. Nobody wants to be the one who asks for the exact figure — so the table rounds, guesses, or lets one person absorb the difference.
It rarely goes wrong at the arithmetic. It goes wrong because working it out properly takes longer than anyone is willing to spend at the table.
Split Bill exists for that minute. It is built to be faster than guessing and fairer than rounding, so that the exact answer is also the easy one.
Complexity, simplified.
Alite makes calm tools for the practical parts of shared life — the ones that should take a minute, and usually don't.

What we hold to
- 01
Faster than guessing
Type a name, press Enter, type a price. A ten-item dinner is ten passes through one line, and the running total keeps up.
- 02
Nothing to install, for anyone
No account and no download — for you or the people you split with. A QR code hands the whole bill to their phone.
- 03
Your bills stay yours
There is no server and no database. Bills live in your browser; a shared bill travels inside the link, never through us.
- 04
Honest arithmetic
Shares are exact and rounded once, the working behind every figure is one tap away, and a scan is only called verified when the receipt agrees.

In detail
How splitting works
List what was on the bill — one line each, the way it's printed. Type a name, press Enter, type a price, press Enter, and the cursor comes back for the next line.
New items are shared by everyone and paid by the same person unless you say otherwise — the line under the composer states exactly who, and changing it only affects the next items. Open any item to pick the people who shared it, or to split it by exact amounts or percentages.
Longer outings can hold several receipts in one bill — dinner, the taxi, the hotel — each with its own tax and service charge, all settled together.
Receipt scanning
Photograph a receipt and Split Bill reads the items, the tax and the service charge, entirely on your device, in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. It's free and unlimited.
It also reads the total the receipt printed and checks what it read against it. A scan is only marked as verified when those figures agree; when they don't, it says so and shows the gap. Every line stays editable either way.
Settling up
Every share is worked out exactly first, then rounded to the cent once, for the whole bill. The shares always add back to the exact total, nobody carries more than a cent of rounding, and the stray cent never lands on whoever paid just because they paid.
You then get the fewest payments that square everyone up — usually one or two for a whole table. Tap anyone to see the lines behind their share.
Where your data lives
Bills are saved in your own browser. You can export everything as CSV or JSON at any time, and clearing your browser storage removes it for good.
